| Silent Film hardly lives up to their name. Presenting a self-described
"crazy" performance, the five-piece rock band from Baltimore is anything but
quiet. Packaging a sound that can be likened to Thrice, Jimmy Eat World, and
Taking Back Sunday, Silent Film relies on pure rock and honest lyrics to
convey a unique sound of their own.
Since forming in the early 2000's, the group has recorded three albums. City is My
Sea was released in 2004, and was followed a year later by Our New
Heaven which quickly sold out after its original pressing, forcing the
band to re-record and re-master for a second release. Following up the smashing success of their sophomore album, Silent Film released The Scene is Dead to hundreds of fans across the Mid Atlantic region in Baltimore, MD. By far, their most prolific work yet, this concept album depicts current events seen through the eyes of the 20 somethings going through life.
As evidence of hard work on stage and in the studio, Silent Film has
hundreds of plays each day on PureVolume and MySpace. Already if that weren't
enough, the band has shared the stage with national acts such as Third Eye Blind, Vertical Horizon, Motion City
Soundtrack, The Starting Line, and Relient K.
